Plan the work, then plan the furniture
Begin with the number of people who work in the space each day, the equipment they use and the conversations they need to have. A reception desk has different demands from a focused accounting team or a meeting room used by visitors. This simple distinction stops an office from becoming a collection of mismatched pieces.
Sketch the room with doors, windows, sockets and columns. Keep routes to exits and shared equipment clear. A layout that looks efficient on paper can fail quickly if someone has to squeeze past chairs to reach a printer or a colleague.
Spend carefully on the pieces used most
