Now, this sleek bird has returned to Iittala’s bird collection – but only for a short while. The green birdy is available in a limited edition of just 2,000 pieces. Each pastel-colored Sulo is handcrafted, making every piece one of a kind as the shades may vary from lighter to darker and the size of the head or tail can differ slightly from bird to bird. Every piece of limited edition is individually numbered, making Sulo a perfect gift for passionate birdwatchers and art collectors alike. The first glass birds of Birds by Toikka collection were designed in 1972 by Professor Oiva Toikka, renowned for his unique contribution to Finnish art glass over the past half-century. Each bird is a mouth-blown, unique individual, signed with the artist’s name. The passing of time enhances the value of these art objects – that is why Birds by Toikka are cherished and valued gifts and irresistible to collectors around the world.
